I put the call out for everyone to send me their silliest best, and you answered the call. Congratulations to Sandra E. – winner of a 6-month Netflix membership! Sandra sent in an astonishing 12 submissions, and each one earned her an entry into the draw.
I present to you the video compilation of Show Me Your Best: Silliness.
The next installment of show me your best is all about Glee! Send me you pics and videos of your best dancing, singing, or posing. Each image/video you send earns you an entry into the draw for a $50 gift certificate from Shutterfly.
Contest closes June 1st!
To get you started, here’s my Glee: THE VOICE
Wondering what Baby’s First Year is all about? My client handed me 8 hours of video to edit with instructions to edit out all the “garbage” and create a video “not more than 45 minutes”. Would you sit down to watch a day’s worth of video clips or would you prefer a condensed, fun video of all the best moments? That’s exactly what the Baby’s First Year video is all about.
I asked my fans, clients and friends to send in photos of their best Kiss for the “Show Me Your Best” Contest. Early in the contest, I received an email from a woman who was worried that I had salacious intentions. I responded with a video message that was intended to demonstrate I am not “a self-indulgent voyeuristic psycho looking for a cheap thrill” (her words, and clearly, despite the educated language, she has no knowledge of free porn on the internet). I received another message asking for some clarification as to what kind of kiss was acceptable, so I posted this photo:
As you will see in the video I created, we had baby kisses, first kisses, wedding kisses, dog kisses and even a dolphin kiss. Thanks to everyone who participated. You’ll want to watch right to the end of the video, where I’m announcing the next Show Me Your Best contest.
Enjoy the show!
A friend of mine who is a photographer recently asked me to create a video using photos from a recent birth shoot. In Ontario, hiring a photographer to take pictures of the birth of your child is an emerging trend. I was not sure how I was going to present these photos in a video – in my mind, the photos would be a bit, ummm, graphic. When I received the photos from Tny_Photography, I was really surprised by how tasteful and emotional the photos were. Creating a slideshow that could capture the emotion and tell the story was an immense pleasure. Even I tear up when I watch the video. So grab some Kleenex and enjoy the show.
On Friday, I got the call.
Client: Hi, I saw your wedding video with the celebrities and I want to do that for my daughter.
Me: I’d be happy to do that for you.
Client: Great. The wedding is in Golden, BC this coming weekend, so can you have it ready by Thursday? I’ll bring my pictures over on Monday.
Me: Yes, I can.
And so the pressure started. It increased when the client informed me that his daughter was a TV producer. Gulp. This project has to be flawless. No editing mistakes, no messy audio. This is a client who will notice. Good thing I am a perfectionist and would not skim over any errors, regardless of who the client is.
So here is the final product – a wedding reception video with some great celebrity cameos!
I really do love my job.
Mike & Liz were unable to enjoy their wedding video. We took it and remastered it into a video that they can now enjoy.
